Introducing The Weekender, one of my most worn hairstyles on any given weekend.
It gives all the volume, celebrates the curls, and can take you from day to night all weekend long.
With only a minor change of accessories, this look can tackle it all whether it’s for Saturday morning pancakes at home, an impromptu date night, or a casual Sunday Brunch with the family.
Try it! This simple look might just become one of your favorite hairstyles too.
TUTORIAL
This one casual look, styled with small hair accessory options, can go wherever your weekend plans take you.
Step 1: The Triangle Part
To get started, part your hair at the top of your head to create a “V” shaped section. The widest part of the triangle will be at your forehead, and the tip of the triangle will land at the crown of your head (the top of your head that curves down to the back of your head).
Just using your finger, carefully, try to separate the curls without causing too much frizz. Don’t worry though, frizz can always be refreshed at the end of styling too.
The trick with this simple shape, is do your best to conceal your part lines. This is what gives the look an effortless chic vibe.
Step 2: The Hair Accessory
Secure the hair at the crown with your choice of hair accessory, each offering a slightly different flair to the look.
Hair Accessory Options:
- The thin elastic hair band is the simplest accessory, and can also be wrapped with a small section of hair to conceal the band.
- The mini volume barrette is an easy favorite because it’s so quick to clip in! The curve of the volume barrette is perfect for curly hair because it allows more space for your curls to maintains their shape.
- The most casual option is the mini claw clip, and it’s also the cutest. I always have one of these in my purse or in my car for a quick style fix. For a more chic look, opt for a color that blends into your hair.

Step 3: Tame the Frizz
Refresh any frizz with a styling foam or with a damp refresh technique.
Of course, a spritz of hairspray never hurts either. Voila!
Cheers to The Weekender
The simplicity of this look is all due to the tapering of that triangle section. It allows the volume of your curls to start at the top of your head and beautifully frame your face without your curls being in your face.
Additionally, the hair now gathered at the crown, adds an amazing cascade of curls at the back of your head. This instantly doubles the fullness of your hair with a style that comfortably lasts all day.

This is why this look is one of my favorite weekend hairstyles. It’s always dependable, is so easy and quick to do, all while celebrating the curls. Cheers!
I hope you enjoy The Weekender too, and I hope it takes you wherever you want to go this weekend.
