The One Clip Curly Hair Refresh Routine
Messy morning hair? We’ve all been there! Flattened sections, a bit of frizz, and stringy curls can make morning styling a challenge. But what if you could quickly revitalize your curls with just one alligator clip and a few simple steps?
In this video, I share my efficient curly hair morning routine that transforms sleepy hair into bouncy, defined curls again. I focus on targeted hydration for a complete refresh in the shortest amount of time.
Products used in the video:
DevaCurl Flexible Hold Hairspray (Ulta)
For high-density hair and/or thick hair, try using extra alligator clips to hold your hair up as you go. They usually come in packs of 3-5 and range anywhere from $3-10 a set.
Here’s the breakdown:
Simple Sectioning: Using the single alligator clip, I divide my hair into manageable sections. Starting with the lower half (earline down), I twist the remaining hair up and secure it with the clip. This allows me to focus on one section at a time.
Targeted Hydration: For each section, I gently smooth water and a touch of my wash-day product onto my curls. This rehydrates and encourages curl clumping, bringing them back to life.
Curl-by-Curl Refreshing: To keep things quick and efficient, I only refresh the curls that truly need it. This curl-by-curl approach is a time saver!
Uniform Curl Families (or clumps): While refreshing, I also gently separate any large curl clumps to create more volume and uniformity.
Finishing Touches: Quick finishing touches include anything from hydrating dry ends, perking up face-framing curls, and or lifting bed head flat spots. Once it’s all done, I spray a lightweight, flexible hold hairspray to set my hair for the day.
