How to style the top of your curls without a visible part line? Try horizontal sections.
The Ladder Part
Sectioning and parting your hair can be a great way to style the top of your curls. Not only does it give you more control over your styling, but it also helps to distribute your styling products more evenly. Still, you don’t always have to show a visible part line. Instead, try the ladder part, or horizontal sections across the top of your head.
Thin horizontal sections work best! On my medium density hair, I usually style about 4 sections across the top. I start at the crown of my head with the first section. The last section is always at my hairline to style my face-framing pieces.

How to Style the Top of Your Curls
While styling each horizontal section, lift your hair up from the roots. Applying your product in this direction helps to lift your roots and help to conceal your part lines too. Smooth curl clumps by raking in your product from roots to ends. Then, scrunch up to the scalp to encourage curls to form at the roots. Finish by hover diffusing for best results!
