Naturally, there are a lot of hair products in my house. Some of them are for my testing, but of course, many are the daily favorites for my family’s curly hair care.
You’ll notice that I choose products that are free of sulfates and silicones to keep my hair as healthy as possible. It’s all because of the calm curls I’ve had ever since eliminating these ingredients from my products that keep me reading the labels.
And as it’s a challenge to use up a product I don’t like, these have all been good ones. But would I purchase these products again? Most of them yes, and I’ll explain why and when for each product.
June 2022 Hair Product Empties
Here are the 10 products I’ve used up lately and how I used them. I’ve listed them in the random order as selected in my video that you can watch here too. Hm, and yes, you’ve likely spotted that half-empty bottle in the photo… It’s a shy stand-in for its empty siblings that were already recycled and could not be present for the photo.
Wella Dry Shampoo This has been my favorite dry shampoo so far. With a salon-quality fragrance, it feels sophisticated and luxurious. It’s perfect for extending your wash day just one more day or freshening up after a day outdoors. I always bring this one on vacation!
Would I buy it again? Yes. It’s an easy-to-apply spray with a welcoming fresh scent.
Treluxe Shampoo The fragrance of this one is a relaxing coconut, so much so that it even calms my kids enough to properly cleanse their hair. Whew!
Would I buy it again? Yep!
Treluxe Leave-in Conditioner This is a lightweight leave-in for use in detangling and prepping hair before styling. It’s especially helpful for short hair, to apply, brush through and leave in.
Would I buy it again? Love this one for my son’s quick hair wash goals.
Kenra 25 – My favorite finishing hairspray to use on dry hair. It’s workable and is free of the sticky, high gloss finish of other sprays.
Would I buy it again? Yes, I’m on my second bottle now.
Innersense Hairspray – My favorite hairspray for wet styling curly hair. I love applying this all over my hair before diffusing it for added hold and a frizz-free finish. You can read my full review here too.
Would I buy it again? Yes, I’m on bottle my second bottle of this one too.
Alikay Naturals Mousse – A summer favorite, this one is super quick to apply for a light, loose hold on the curls. I love this for those poolside weekends or beach vacations when I need to wash and style my hair every day. I use it to wear my curls down or even if I’m putting it up in a Dutch braid too.
Would I buy it again? Love this one for quick summer styling.
Booda Organics – I have only found this one in-store at my local natural food grocers. It’s a multi-purpose cleansing bar. I’ve chickened out from using is as a shampoo bar after all, but it’s a great body wash and shave bar. Mostly, I appreciate it helping me reduce plastics in my beauty routine and the number of bottles in my shower.
Would I buy it again? Yes! It’s great to travel with too.
California Baby – Oh, this aromatherapy is so good to me. On days when I just need some added moisture and fresh scent, this is it. After some time outdoors or a light a workout, this is a beautiful refresh product. I’d love to try the entire line of these products. And as it’s designed for babies, that means it’s gentle enough for curls and sensitive skin too. Win, win!
Would I buy it again? Oh yes! I had no idea how much I loved aromatherapy until this product brightened my day.
Giovanni Eco Chic Shampoo – (Not shown as the bottle as already recycled…) I’ve repurchased this one a couple of times already. It’s an easy choice for a clarifying shampoo that’s great to give your hair a fresh start again.
Would I buy it again? Yes. A budget-friendly clarifying shampoo without sulfates is a win.
Giovanni Eco Chic Conditioner – (Not shown as the bottle as already recycled…) This silicone-free conditioner is a great option to hydrate your hair for smooth and happy curls.
Would I buy it again? Yes. A larger pump bottle of this one is on my list.
Giovanni Leave-in – (not an empty, but shown in the video as the stand-in for its brand siblings that could not be present for the video and photos) This is another lightweight leave-in conditioner that can be used as a single styler on fine hair (that doesn’t need any hold) or as a base layer on all hair types before applying gel. It provides a great amount of slip for detangling too. As I only use a pea-sized amount of this one for all of my hair, I still have some left!
Would I buy it again? Yes. I love that it lasts me a long time too.
