Real-life styling tips, routines, and signature looks that celebrate your gorgeous curls every day.
01. Let it Settle
If you’ve worn your hair up overnight to protect your curls, your hair will love some transition time. So before you begin styling, let your hair settle down naturally for at least 10 minutes.
This prep time will also help to reduce your actual styling time too. You may be surprised how much better your hair looks by letting gravity do some work for you.
02. Try a Refresh Spray
Using a hair refresh spray is a quick boost to letting your hair settle, though it is completely optional. The benefits include deodorizing your hair and scalp, adding hydration, and reactivating your styling product.
Simply spritz your hair all over, under, and all the layers in between, and then let your hair settle for at least 10 minutes before styling.

03. Free the Nested Curl Clumps
To add more uniform volume, separate nested curl clumps to bring them back to their original shape and spacing. This rearranging of the curls will create a fresh full look again.
04. Curl by Curl Refresh
Have your styling clips ready for this step! After letting your hair settle, you may discover that most of your curls still look great!
Start assessing your bottom layers first and move your way up for the best results. Smooth only the frizz curl by curl and leave the rest as is.
05. Smooth Frizzy Ends
Using wet hands and the praying hands method, smooth the ends of your curls by pressing them down with your palms.
Use a styling product with hold, if needed, such as a gel or mousse, to seal in the hydration and keep your ends smooth throughout the day.

06. Check the Back
Keep an eye out for lurking frizz! Use a handheld mirror to check the back while styling.
07. Quick Diffusing
Even with a damp refresh, the added water weight can weigh your hair down and affect your styling. To have more control over your finished results and protect your curl set, dry your hair with a diffuser for at least a few minutes.
Try hover diffusing to dry your curls without creating frizz. For more compressed curls and volume, try hammock diffusing too.
08. Weather protection
Is Inclement weather in the forecast? A finishing spray is an easy way to preserve your curls and protect them against wind, rain, and humidity. Rest assured that these hairsprays won’t damage your curls.
