With travel-sized product favorites and tools, you can easily take your curls on vacation. I’ve rounded up my favorite tips, products, and tools for happily traveling with curls this season.

Curly Hair Travel Dos
- Plan Your Wash Day – My favorite time-saving tip is to wash your hair the day of travel or the night before. This allows you to enjoy your vacation immediately and then plan a wash day later.
- Bring a Silky Scarf – Do stash this multi-purpose must-have in your carry-on. Check out the 10 Reasons Curly Love a Silky Scarf. Driving trips, air travel, and variable weather can all use a handy scarf!
- Try a Collapsible Diffuser – If your travel location includes a hair dryer, try bringing only a universal collapsible diffuser to save packing space.
- Pack Travel-sized Hair Care & Styling Products – These minis are great for travel in TSA approved sizes. Just make sure you have enough product to last the length of your trip! Or consider using refillable bottles as needed.

Curly Hair Travel Don’ts
- New Products – Don’t try new products on vacation. Instead, opt for your tried-and-true product favorites for those memorable photo moments. Still, if you need new products due to the weather change or product availability, test any new products before your trip for peace of mind that they’ll work for you.
- Shower Cap – Don’t count on the hotel having one of these. Bring your own that fits your hair for dependable protection on non-wash days.
- Hair Towel – Don’t dry your hair with a hotel bath towel. Bring your own hair towel as it takes up very little space and air dries quickly too. Your curls will be all the happier for it!
Happy travels!
