When the love of claw clips and messy buns just all works out! This Claw Clip High Bun hairstyle is an easy combo for a cool and casual updo that’s light and comfortable to wear all day.

For this look, I’m using a large open rectangle claw clip with a good grip to serve as the anchor to hold up the bun with all-day comfort. I love the angle this style creates with the claw clip’s rectangular shape and crowing bun on top! Here’s how to get the look.
Claw Clip High Bun
- Start by gathering your hair into a high ponytail. Gently rake up the edges of your hair to allow some texture to still show through. Tip: Using a ponytail holder here is optional but can be helpful to give the bun some extra lift if needed.
- With one hand holding up your hair at the crown of your head, begin twisting the length of your ponytail and wrap it around the base of your high pony. Tuck the ends of your twist securely under the bun.
- While still holding your bun, lightly tug out the sides of the bun to loosen it a bit. This gives it a not too tight and not too messy look for that casual vibe.
- Finally, using a large claw clip, clip down only the bottom edge of the bun to the rest of your hair.
